Rules & Regulations
- Rules
- Maximum number in a team is 20.
- Maximum number of institution's staff is 4
- Team shall include advisor, presenter, drivers, and liaison.
- Except advisor, the presenter, drivers and liaison personnel can hold more than one role.
- Composition of "repeat team members" is 40% or less (for institutions which participated in Eco-Challenge 2010).
- Registered student = personnel pursuing undergraduate (diploma, degree) and Master’s degree until end June 2011.
- A Master's student must be under 35 of age.
- Driver
- Minimum weight of 60 kg.
- Healthy.
- Valid driving license.
- Must be staff or student of participating institution and must be included in the team.
- No professional drivers allowed.
- Seat belt and helmet must be worn at all times
- Driver change is allowed as well as pit stops.
- Driver must wear full safety gear (helmet, racing outfit, proper shoes).
- A reserve driver is mandatory, team member.
Longest Distance
- Only 1 category, namely, manual transmission.
- Cars driven on circuit until complete stop.
- Longest distance with the least amount of penalties will be declared the winner.
Engineering, Design Presentation
- Each team will be given a booth (10 by 20 ft) with display boards for them to put up their modification information.
- Judges will be going around the booth display area. Each presenter is given 5 minutes to give a brief explanation. There will be an alert 1 minute before end.
- The booth must be manned at all times during the day to field questions from the media and public.
- The vehicle design aspect (aerodynamics, visual, etc) will be a factor in awarding points to the teams.
- All teams are required to decorate their car according to their own theme – Eco, natural, environment, earth, etc.
- Booth design, moral support from fellow students also considered.
- Points will also be awarded to teams with the best participation not just from their team members but also from the support they bring during the race day.
