Rawang 15 Nov: Perodua donated 7 cattle to be sacrificed during Hari Raya Korban (Festival of Sacrifices), which falls this Wednesday (17 November), to 6 mosques within Kepala Batas.
The livestock worth some RM17,000 were handed over by Perodua Corporate Communications General Manager En Alias Abu Hassan to representatives of Masjid Al-Shahab, Masjid Titi Besi, Alor Senajaya, Masjid Bukit Tinggi, Masjid Al-Husma Padang Hassan and Persatuan Penduduk Islam Taman Mas Merah Titi Besi in Kepala Batas yesterday.
Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the beef will be distributed to the underprivileged Muslims residents especially to those affected by the recent floods in northern region recently.
“We empathise with those who were affected by the recent floods and hope that our contributions will in a small way help the victims Hari Raya preparations,” he said.
Meanwhile Perodua and Perodua Dealers Association (PDA) donated a total of RM11,900 to 6 of its sales and service dealers based in the Kedah and Perlis for disbursement to their staff affected by the floods.
The affected staff were from Laytac Auto Sdn Bhd in Kangar, Mashur Bistari Sdn Bhd in Jitra and Triumph Point Sdn Bhd, Edaran Sungai Korok Sdn Bhd, MBM Distributors Sdn Bhd, and Everthree (M) Sdn Bhd all in Alor Setar.
Perodua also disbursed between RM500 and RM1,000 as well as daily essentials to each of its 27 staff based in Jitra and Alor Setar branches whose houses were also flooded.
