Rawang 17 Oct: In conjunction with the upcoming Festival of Light, Perodua today donated RM3,000 each to 3 schools and 3 charity homes for them to carry out their activities.
Hulu Selangor Member of Parliament YB P Kamalanathan who was present at the ceremony held at Perodua Headquarter here presented the cheques to the respective representatives of the schools and charity homes.
The 3 selected schools were SJK (T) Changkat Asa, SJK (T) Ladang Escot and SJK (T) Ladang Kerling while the charity homes were Divine Life Society Kuala Kubu Bahru, Persatuan Penganut Satguru Sri Raghavendra and Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah.
At the same event, YB Kamalanathan also presented prizes to the winners of Perodua Drawing Contest held recently. The contest was opened to children of Perodua staff based at the company’s headquarters.
Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the company is happy to give back to the society.
“We are happy to share with the needy during every major festive season such as Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Chinese New Year, and Deepavali,” he said.
“Besides providing business and employment opportunities, Perodua believes in giving back to the society through our corporate responsibility programmes,” he said.
“These community programmes are in line with our brand tagline “Building Cars, People First,” he added.
Last week, Perodua , treated 50 underprivileged children from 2 selected schools here to a Deepavali shopping spree at a major mall in Kuala Lumpur.
The primary school children from SJK (T) Ladang Sg Choh and SJK (T) Bukit Beruntung were given RM200 to shop for clothing and RM50 angpau for them to celebrate the Festival of Lights .
