Kuala Lumpur, April 12: Perodua bagged 2 major awards including the “Best Model of the Year Award” for the Perodua Myvi at the 2012 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards here tonight.

Malaysia’s leading compact car manufacturer also drove away with Value-for-Money Car of the Year Award (1.3L and below) for its ViVA model at the event.

“We are truly honoured to receive these 2 prestigious awards as they are a reflection that our products and services are well received by our customers,” Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said in his acceptance speech.

“Perodua is not just about building practical compact vehicle but we emphasize on the people first philosophy in tandem with our brand statement of “Building Cars, People First,” Aminar pointed out.

According to Frost & Sullivan, the Perodua Myvi scored high marks in these areas - high sales volume, market share, key selling points and marketing strategy among other things while the ViVA proved as the most economical car in terms of fuel consumption, part cost and total cost of ownership.

Perodua has sold more than 559,660 units of the Myvi since May 2005 and about 324,000 units of the ViVA since its launch in May 2007.
