THIRD-GENERATION PERODUA MYVI LAUNCHED IN SINGAPORE

Singapore, 15 Apr: The third-generation Perodua Myvi has been officially launched in Singapore. Two variants are available, 1.3 X AT and 1.5 H AT, priced at SGD64,800 (RM197,093) and SGD69,800 (RM212,301) respectively, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax and the Certificate of Entitlement (COE).

The launch event was held last Saturday at Perocom Auto Pte Ltd’s outlet in Ubi, attracting some 250 customers. Perocom Auto is the sole authorised Perodua distributor in Singapore.

“The current-generation Myvi’s foray into Singapore is significant in terms of brand presence despite the high barriers for entry into this mature market. This also marks the model’s first export destination under the Perodua brand,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad said.

Although Perodua has already begun exporting the current-generation Myvi to Indonesia, the model is badged as a Daihatsu there and is called the Sirion.

The number of new cars registered in Singapore varies a fair amount from year to year, numbering 80,281 units in 2018, 91,922 in 2017, 87,504 in 2016 and 57,589 in 2015, according to Land Transport Authority (LTA) statistics.

Although small, the Singaporean automotive market is among the most highly-regulated in the region.

“The Perodua Myvi has been very well received by Malaysians, and the enthusiasm has also found its way to Singapore, where there is a niche yet loyal cult following eagerly awaiting the arrival of the third-generation model,” said Perocom Auto Pte Ltd Managing Director Mr John Ng.

Launched in its home market of Malaysia in November 2017, the third-generation Perodua Myvi is the carmaker’s most sophisticated model to date, offering high quality, technology and fuel efficiency in a stylish and compact package.

It is also among the most independently-designed vehicles in Perodua’s history, with an upper body developed completely in-house.

Perocom Auto has sold the Kancil, Kembara, Kelisa, first-generation Myvi, Viva, Axia and Bezza in Singapore. It has been the sole authorised Perodua distributor in the island nation since 1997. 

Over 110,000 units of the third-generation Perodua Myvi have found homes in Malaysia to date.

Didapati dalam dua varian, 1.3 X AT dan 1.5 H AT, model tersebut berharga SGD64,800 (RM197,093) dan SGD69,800 (RM212,301) masing-masing, termasuk Cukai Barangan dan Perkhidmatan serta Sijil Kelayakan (COE).

Majlis pelancaran diadakan pada Sabtu lepas di pusat jualan dan servis Perocom Auto Pte Ltd di Ubi, dihadiri oleh kira-kira 250 orang pelanggan. Perocom Auto merupakan pengedar sah Perodua yang tunggal di Singapura.

“Kemasukan Myvi generasi ketiga ke Singapura adalah penting bagi jenama kami walaupun berdepan dengan halangan untuk memasuki pasaran matang ini. Ini juga menandakan destinasi eksport pertama bagi model ini di bawah jenama Perodua,” kata Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Perodua Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Walaupun Perodua sudah mula mengeksport Myvi generasi ketiga ke Indonesia, namun model tersebut menggunakan jenama Daihatsu di sana dan dinamakan sebagai Sirion.

Bilangan kenderaan baharu yang didaftarkan di Singapura berbeza dari tahun ke tahun, iaitu sebanyak 80,281 unit pada 2018, 91,922 pada 2017, 87,504 pada 2016 dan 57,589 pada tahun 2015, berdasarkan statistik Lembaga Pengangkutan Darat (LTA).

Walaupun kecil, pasaran automotif Singapura adalah antara yang paling dikawal selia di rantau ini.

“Perodua Myvi mendapat sambutan yang sangat baik oleh rakyat Malaysia, dan di Singapura turut terdapat sekumpulan peminat setia yang menanti-nantikan ketibaan model generasi ketiga ini,” kata Pengarah Urusan Perocom Auto Pte Ltd En John Ng.

Dilancarkan di Malaysia pada November 2017, Perodua Myvi generasi ketiga merupakan model paling canggih yang dikeluarkan oleh Perodua setakat ini, menawarkan kualiti tinggi, teknologi dan kecekapan bahan api dalam sebuah pakej yang kompak serta bergaya.

Tambahan pula, bahagian upper body Myvi generasi ketiga direka sepenuhnya oleh Perodua.

Perocom Auto, pengedar sah Perodua yang tunggal di Singapura sejak 1997, telah menjual Kancil, Kembara, Kelisa, Myvi generasi pertama, Viva, Axia dan Bezza di negara tersebut.

Lebih 110,000 unit Perodua Myvi generasi ketiga telah menemui pemiliknya di Malaysia setakat ini.
